TTC Selected as Supplier for the 7E7
Boeing Commercial Airplanes, Seattle, WA. has selected Teletronics Technology Corporation (TTC), Bristol, PA. as a team member/supplier for the development of the Airborne Data Acquisition/Recording System to validate the performance of the 7E7 Dreamliner Passenger Aircraft currently under development. The 7E7-8 and 7E7-9 is a super efficient airplane, which will carry 217-257 passengers in tri-class configurations on routes of 8500 and 8300 nautical miles. A third 7E7 family member, 7E7-3, will accommodate 289 passengers in two configurations for routes of 3500 nautical miles. An international team of top aerospace companies is developing the airplane led by Boeing. TTC was selected based upon technical excellence.
The equipment to be provided is based on the TTC Model MCDAU modular data acquisition/signal conditioning system. The system configuration is an open architecture permitting interfaces with a variety of sensors, avionics and mission control buses, networks, recorders, displays, processors, telemetry transmitters, all under dynamic control to optimize the data acquisition, analysis and storage for the required test parameters under evaluation.
TTC will be initially responsible for providing Data Source Interface (DSI) hardware in accordance with the high speed network requirements as well as supporting onboard sources such as required for various buses, legacy systems as well as providing signal conditioning. Phase 1 will be to develop a system configuration with the other Instrumentation Team suppliers to meet the Boeing system requirements for current and future applications. Phase 2 will result in hardware delivery and demonstrations to assure flight worthiness. First flight is expected in July 2006.
