THE LOCKHEED-MARTIN/BOEING F-22 RAPTOR TEAM SELECTS TELETRONICS TECHNOLOGY CORPORATION (TTC) AS INSTRUMENTATION DATA ACQUISITION SYSTEM (IDAS) SUPPLIER FOR REPLACEMENT TEST AIRCRAFT (RTA)
Lockheed Martin Aeronautics, Fort Worth, Texas has contracted with Teletronics
Technology Corporation (TTC), Newtown, Pa. to design and certify the Airborne
Instrumentation Data Acquisition System (IDAS) to validate the performance of various upgrades to F-22 Raptor Aircraft. This is part of the Raptor Enhancement Development and integration (REDI) contract to validate POST EMD Requirements/developments.
The RTA aircraft (Raptor 4132) is configured to allow tests of various hardware, as well as avionics, while validating the flying qualities and structural integrity of modified aircraft to the production baseline configuration. This platform will have First Flight in December 2009 and be delivered to the USAF.
The equipment to be provided is based on the TTC “commercial off the shelf” (COTS) modular data acquisition system using the Tri-Service approved, Common Airborne Instrumentation System (CAIS) Bus Architecture. The system configuration is an open architecture permitting interfaces with a variety of sensors, avionics and mission control buses, networks, recorders, displays, processors, telemetry transmitters, all under dynamic control to optimize the data acquisition, analysis and storage for the required test parameters under evaluation.
The IDAS System will be configured using the AIC-2004 Airborne Instrumentation
Controller, AIM Airborne Instrumentation Multiplexer, HSAVDAU-2006 High Speed AVDAU Bus Interface Chassis, MCDAU-2000 Remote DAUs, MSU-2000 Flight Recorder, PSU-2020 Ground Support Unit and other specialized products.
TTC was selected based upon technical capability, low risk and best past performance on similar contracts with Lockheed Martin, including the JSF Program, and other Prime Contractors as well as DOD Agencies for similar items and services.
TTC specializes in furnishing COTS products and systems for commercial, industrial and military/aerospace applications and programs. The products include Signal Conditioning, Digital and Analog Data Acquisition, Solid State Recording, RF Telemetry, On-Board Data Analysis & Display, and PC Software support for on-site programming and pre-flight checkout.
TTC is the world premier supplier of data acquisition systems and has previously supplied products and services to many US and International Programs including F-22, F-16, F-18E/F, EA-18G Aircraft, Bell 609 and Super Puma Helicopters, as well as UAVs and Missiles. TTC was also selected as the Instrumentation Supplier for the F-35 (JSF) Program and received the 2004 Integrated Test Force Distinguished Supplier Award. TTC is an approved supplier for the US Tri-Service Common Airborne Instrumentation System (CAIS) used on many of these programs. They were also recognized by the US Small Business Administration as Vendor of the Year and are ISO 9001 Certified.
