Overview:
The BIM-394L Card is designed to fulfill the role of providing
an IEEE 1394b bus monitor for use in TTC's Data Acquistion
Unit (EDAU/CDAU) product. The BIM-394L is a programmable
bus monitor, extracting selected data words from the
FireWire bus for insertion into the PCM under format control.
Selected data is time tagged per IRIG 106-02 chapter 4.
The BIM-394L includes an IEEE 1394b compliant interface
capable of data rates of up to 400 Mbps. The bus is accessible
at the BIM-394L faceplate via a D-Subminiature 9-pin
receptacle. The 1394b interface port provides LEAF functionality.
Data acquired by the BIM-394L Card is transported by
the onboard processor to the local memory. One or more
BIM-394L cards can simultaneously reside in the EDAU/
CDAU Chassis.
