The nREC-4000 Airborne Networked Recorder is based on TTC’s popular SMS-4000 recorder unit. The unit records data from a network-based data acquisition system. The recorder houses a data cartridge, which can record data from a network of high-speed data acquisition and multiplexing units at up to 20 megabytes/sec. The recorder has built-in intelligence enabling it to provide recorder statistics and continuous health monitoring. The unit supports Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) and is configured via the network fabric.
TTC has used the same innovative technology in the nREC-4000 as found in the higher performing nREC-6000. The nREC-4000 shares the same user interface and functionality as the nREC-6000, but offers a lower cost and smaller physical size, providing an economical solution for applications with a lower data rate. The unit provides two 10/100 Base-T Ethernet interfaces for packet recording and a 10/100/1000 Base-T Ethernet download port, as well as being fully equipped with IRIG AC/DC time input and IRIG DC time output. The nREC-4000 supports the SNMP, can also act as an IRIG 106 Chapter 10 recorder, and is fully compatible with the complete family of TTC’s network-based data acquisition systems.
