The HSAVDAU-2004/2006 unit is designed to accept up to four (six) data acquisition cards that support various interfaces. The unit includes an Overhead (OVH-300) processor card, and a Time/CAIS Bus Mezzanine (RCI-305) card. The HSAVDAU-2004/2006 accepts IRIG-B AC or DC time for purposes of supporting IRIG chapter 4 for selected data via the CAIS bus as well as IRIG chapter 10 for recorded data time tagging. The unit can also operate as a CAIS remote data acquisition unit. This capability allows the user to capture selected data from incoming data sources (such as PCM, 1553, IEEE-1394b, Fibre Channel, Etc.), as well as providing Cards/Unit/Recorder status to a CAIS controller for transmission of flight safety data.
