The FCB-301-1 module is an electrical Fibre Channel repeater designed to regenerate the Fibre Channel signal and enable it to be carried to a distance of up to 100 feet. It is manufactured to PMC (PCI Mezzanine Card) IEEE Standard 1386.1 and consists of a mezzanine card and a commercial off-the-shelf carrier card. The carrier card has a PCI Express (PCIe) connector which gets plugged into the Data Server Unit (DSU) or a PC. The carrier card provides the power to the mezzanine card. The FCB-301-1 module has two Fibre Channel ports that can transmit and receive data at a rate of 1.0625 Gbps. One port transmits and receives data to and from the Fibre Channel host which is located inside the PC or DSU. The other port is connected to the test article outside of the PC or DSU and is transformer-coupled. Two nine-pin D-Subminiature receptacles (DB9) provide access to the electrical fibre channel interfaces at the FCB-301-1 faceplate.
