HTTP Technology
Managing the configuration of multiple Data Acquisition Units (DAUs) from a central location in a network-based system is an efficient use of resources. TTC employs XML configuration files for all user-programmable variables. However, there are some variables in analog acquisition and video/audio systems for which customers require dynamic programming and the ability to make rapid, real-time changes to data parameters. TTC employs browser-based interfaces (HTTP) to permit changes to certain variables through a central server.
The HTTP server stops a port's ability to collect data during the update process and restarts it after the new configuration is saved in the DAU processor's Flash memory. The original configuration is overwritten and cannot be restored unless the original XML file is reloaded. These dynamic parameter values are module or channel-based just like the static parameters loaded through the original XML file. TTC currently supports webpages with update fields for the following modules:
- Video/Audio Interface Module (MVID-501-1):
- Enable/disable audio/video functionality, reset video framesize, bit rate and time overlay position; audio input voltage and bit rate.
- Simultaneous Sampling Signal Conditioner Module with Voltage Excitation (MSCD-104D-1/MSCD-104D-2):
- Reset voltage excitation output, amplifier primary and secondary gain, signal input voltage, digital offset, and trim counts.
- Thermocouple Conditioner Module (MTCD-208V-1):
- Reset cold junction sensor offset, periodic open thermocouple wire test option, and scale range and minimum value for thermocouple.
- Synchro/Resolver Conditioner Module (MSRD-102A-1):
- Logically invert S1 and S3 signal inputs and reset offset correction
- Frequency/Period Counter Module (MFPD-102B-1):
- Reset signal input type, filter, and digital mode.
- RTD Conditioner Module (MRTD-110A-2):
- Reset excitation current, primary and secondary gain, digital offset, and trim counts.
- Simultaneous Sampling Accelerometer Conditioner Module (MSCD-604D-1):
- Reset voltage excitation output, primary and secondary gain, signal input voltage, digital offset, and trim counts.
- RMS to DC Converter Module (MRMS-108A-1):
- Reset amplifier gain.
- LVDT/RVDT Conditioner Module (MLRV-102E-1):
- Reset excitation frequency and amplitude, reference voltage, and L/RVDT maximum voltage.
- Pressure Scanner Module (MPSS-101-1):
- Reset sample averaging, scale range, and offset.
In addition, some analog channel variables can be modified ("tuned") for particular test applications if the option has been set up in the original XML file via user-defined mnemonics. These mnemonmics (up to 32 characters) are functional abbreviations for the tunable channel parameter that appear on the module's webpage with an update field. In all cases the module's model type and channel number must be pre-programmed into the XML file for a tunable variable to be available for update in real time. TTC currently supports user-definable field-tunable variables for the MRTD-110A-2, RTD Conditioner; MSCD-104D-1, Simultaneous Sampling (Bridge) Conditioner; MSCD-604D-1, Accelerometer Conditioner; and the MSRD-102A-1, Synchro/Resolver Conditioner.
